Lavender MuseumLavender Museum

Location: On D2 in Coustellet. The museum is on the right if approaching from the south, having turned north off the major N100  which runs east to west on the northern slopes of the Luberon.
General Information: Open all year from 1st February to 31st December. €5 for everyone over 15, students get a discounted price of €4.  Tel No: 0(4) 90 76 85 52 for further information.
Description: A unique small museum outlining the history of the lavender industry in Provence. There is a video presentation to start your tour, followed by the opportunity to look round the museum and its collection of lavender stills. Handsets are given out with an English commentary available.
Our recommendations: Worth stopping at if you are in the area, but not worth a detour. An offshoot of the museum can be found at the Chateau du Bois (north of Apt)  which during the flowering period of the lavender (July and August) is well worth a visit as a 2km walk through lavender fields is possible.
For the children: While the video was informative there was not really much of interest for children as this is a fairly specialist museum.
